Introduction

The international workshop on recent progress in induction accelerators will take place from 29 to 31 October at the Seminar Hall, High Energy Accelerator Research Organization in Japan (KEK), Tsukuba. RPIA 2002 will be jointly hosted by KEK and Tokyo Institute of Technology (TIT) and organized by the RPIA2002 Organizing Committee composed of the members of the related major institutes in the world. The workshop will cover new developments in all aspects of the science, technology, and use of induction accelerators, as well as review of activities over the decades. All individuals with an interest in induction acceleration and related technology are invited to register and attend. Approximately 50 attendees are anticipated. The program will include invited talks and oral contributed papers.
